Connectors of PV systems are comprised of plugs and sockets. These plugs andsockets come inside plastic covers designed with the standard male-femaleinterface in mind. The plug comes inside a cylindrical cover reminding thefemale portion of the connector, although it's regarded as the male one. Thesocket comes inside a square-shaped element resembling the male portion of theconnector, but its electrical function is that of the female portion of theconnector.
